A Meihua Yishu Experiment: If I Were to Move to America, Which City Would Fate Recommend?

Hello everyone.

Today, I decided to try something a little different.

Most of the time, when I perform a Meihua Yishu (Plum Blossom Numerology) reading, I use a specific date and time to cast the hexagram.

But Meihua Yishu has another fascinating method:

Number Divination.

And that’s exactly what I used this time.

The Question

A simple thought suddenly crossed my mind:

“If I were to move somewhere in the United States in the future, which city would best align with my destiny?”

Most people would probably start by looking at economic reports, housing prices, crime statistics, tax rates, and job opportunities.

I, however, have spent too much time studying the I Ching.

So naturally, I cast a hexagram first.

Research comes later.

Priorities matter.

The Mysterious Number

The number that suddenly appeared in my mind was:

818677445321

Why this number?

I honestly have no idea.

Perhaps the universe whispered it.

Perhaps my guardian spirit borrowed a calculator.

Perhaps it was simply random.

The truth remains a mystery.

But in Meihua Yishu, even random numbers can carry meaning.

The Calculation

Upper Trigram:

818677

8 + 1 + 8 + 6 + 7 + 7

= 37

37 ÷ 8

Remainder 5

→ Xun ☴ (Wind)

Lower Trigram:

445321

4 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 1

= 19

19 ÷ 8

Remainder 3

→ Li ☲ (Fire)

Primary Hexagram:

Wind Over Fire – Family (Jia Ren)

Moving Line:

Total sum of all digits

8 + 1 + 8 + 6 + 7 + 7 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 1

= 56

56 ÷ 6

Remainder 2

Second line moving

Changing Hexagram:

Wind Over Mountain – Gradual Progress (Jian)

The First Surprise

When people think about moving to America, they usually imagine:

New York.

Los Angeles.

Las Vegas.

Hollywood.

Wall Street.

Skyscrapers.

Luxury apartments.

Endless ambition.

But the hexagram immediately moved in a completely different direction.

Hexagram: Family

The Family hexagram focuses on:

Community.

Relationships.

Belonging.

Stability.

Home.

In other words, the hexagram looked at me and asked:

“Are you really planning to move across the world just to chase shiny objects?”

That felt strangely personal.

The message became even clearer:

“Find a place where you can build a life, not just a résumé.”

Hexagram: Gradual Progress

The transformed hexagram, Gradual Progress, carries the image of a wild goose slowly ascending a mountain.

Not rushing.

Not gambling.

Not chasing shortcuts.

Simply advancing step by step.

Its themes are:

  • Long-term success
  • Stability
  • Sustainable growth
  • Patience

Translated into modern English:

“Maybe don’t move to New York expecting to become a billionaire next Tuesday.”

The Meihua Yishu Ranking

🥇 #1 Austin, Texas

The clear winner.

Technology.

Artificial Intelligence.

Startups.

Business-friendly taxes.

Strong growth.

High quality of life.

Austin is the city that seems to combine opportunity with livability.

If American cities were students, Austin would be:

The straight-A student who is somehow also popular and athletic.

It’s almost unfair.

🥈 #2 Raleigh, North Carolina

Not as famous internationally.

But quietly becoming one of America’s most attractive cities.

Excellent education.

Strong economy.

Reasonable housing compared to many coastal cities.

This result fits the hexagram perfectly.

🥉 #3 Nashville, Tennessee

Most people think of country music.

But Nashville has become a major healthcare and medical industry hub.

As someone deeply involved in medical education, I found this result particularly interesting.

Apparently, the hexagram noticed something I hadn’t consciously considered.

#4 Charlotte, North Carolina

A financial center.

But without the overwhelming intensity of New York.

A balance between growth and sanity.

A rare combination.

#5 Tampa, Florida

Warm weather.

Ocean views.

Relaxed lifestyle.

For someone looking toward the second half of life, Tampa appears surprisingly attractive.

The Unexpected Losers

New York City

A shock to many.

New York remains one of the greatest cities on Earth.

Yet the hexagram suggested:

“A fantastic place to earn money, but not necessarily the easiest place to build a balanced life.”

Los Angeles

Glamorous.

Exciting.

Full of dreams.

But the reading carried a subtle warning:

“Dreams alone are not a relocation strategy.”

San Francisco

The global capital of technology.

But also the global capital of making your wallet cry.

The hexagram seemed slightly amused by the cost of living.

What the Reading Really Says

The transition from

Family → Gradual Progress

reveals a remarkably consistent message.

Not glamour.

Not hype.

Not status.

Instead:

Community.

Belonging.

Steady growth.

Meaningful relationships.

Long-term stability.

If I had to summarize the entire reading in one sentence, it would be:

“Don’t chase the American Dream. Build an American Life.”

Final Ranking

According to this mysterious number:

818677445321

The most favorable cities for long-term prosperity and personal fulfillment are:

🥇 Austin

🥈 Raleigh

🥉 Nashville

🏅 Charlotte

🏅 Tampa

Will this prediction prove accurate ten years from now?

Who knows.

Perhaps future-me will be sitting somewhere in Austin, eating Texas barbecue, looking at this article and saying:

“The hexagram was right all along.”

Or perhaps I’ll still be wondering why that strange number appeared in my mind in the first place.

Either way, the reading suggests one thing very clearly:

The future may belong not to the loudest cities,

but to the ones quietly growing while nobody is paying attention.
